The charger shows a red light and the battery does not appear to be charging.
Check whether the charger head is fully and firmly attached to the battery.
- Firmly reattach the charger head to the battery, then wait a few seconds to see whether the white light on the charger indicator comes on.
- If it still does not charge, switch off the power at the outlet and unplug the charger, then plug the charger back in and switch the power on again.
- If the charger remains solid red, leave the charger connected to the battery and try charging for 5–6 hours.
- After about 30 minutes, touch the charger housing to check for slight warmth. Slight warmth indicates that the battery is charging.
- Install the charged battery in the vehicle and try to power it on.
- If the vehicle powers on, check whether the battery level is displayed. If the battery level cannot be displayed, the battery communication function may be damaged.
The most common cause is a loose charger head connection. If the light stays solid red after reconnecting, the charger may be in low-power blind-charging mode (see the indicator lights below).
- Solid red: The charger has a low-power blind-charging mode. If the battery charging function is not damaged, it can still charge the battery while the light remains solid red. Charging power is low, approximately 36 W, so the charge takes longer. This mode is designed to ensure safe charging across the full temperature range.
- Fast-flashing white: The charger and battery are communicating normally, and fast-charging mode has been triggered.
- Fast-flashing red: A charging fault has occurred.
The charger and battery must communicate to trigger fast-charging mode. If they cannot communicate, the charger remains solid red.
