A: For most users, once a comfortable and supportive seating position is properly set up, it typically does not require frequent day-to-day adjustment. Based on this, we prioritized structural stability, safety, and long-term robustness, rather than on-the-fly mechanical adjustments.
Highly adjustable reclining mechanisms often add complexity, weight, maintenance requirements, and cost. Our goal with the ev¹ is to deliver a stable and reliable everyday mobility experience, rather than a fully clinical or rehab-style seating system.
That said, we fully agree that comfort should never become painful or unmanageable—which is why we are focusing on modular solutions rather than fixed limitations.
A: No. The suspension is not user-adjustable for lifting the rear, lowering the front, or assisting standing transfers. Users who need transfer assistance should use appropriate transfer methods or third-party support solutions.
A: The touchscreen and armrest structures have been tested for everyday use. In internal testing, the screen supported downward force up to 30 kg, and a single armrest supported upward and downward loads up to 120 kg without abnormality. Even so, users should avoid using the screen as a primary transfer support point and should follow safe transfer practices.
A: No. The ev¹ does not currently include a motorized seat lift, tilt, or tilt-in-space function. Users who require these functions may need to consult third-party specialists for compatible solutions, while ensuring any added equipment does not interfere with sensors or operation.

A: The ev¹ is not specifically designed for blind or visually impaired users. Full operation, including the activation of intelligent driving features and navigation of on-screen menus, requires visual engagement and active user participation. A: Use of the ev¹ is limited to users with a body weight between 25 kg and 160 kg.
Children may use the ev¹ only with full parental or guardian awareness, accompaniment, and continuous supervision. An adult must monitor use at all times and strictly prevent the child from touching, probing, or placing any body parts into any gaps, openings, or spaces on the ev¹. Active supervision is required throughout use to manage and control potential risks.

Actual limits depend on local laws and regulations.
A: The ev¹ is not equipped with integrated turn signals. However, it does feature a customizable horn function. Users can conveniently assign the horn to the multi-use button via the settings and adjust the volume to their preference.
A: The ev¹ does not produce operating noise while powered on and stationary. When carrying a 160 kg load and traveling at a constant speed of 4 mph, the measured noise level at the user’s ear position is approximately 46–52 dBA.
A: When someone is traveling in the opposite direction on the same ramp towards you, in Pathfinder feature, the ev¹ will detect the moving obstacle using evSense and automatically calculate an avoidance path, making ongoing adjustments. It will slow down and wait for the obstacle to pass first. If the obstacle continues to block the path, the ev¹ will replan a new path to go around it. If there is not enough space to pass, it will wait in place. And If you choose to manually take over at this point, you will need to select a location on the screen again after avoiding the obstacle.
A: The speed will match the current speed level. If you use Pathfinder or Waypoint in Level S, the speed will be reduced to below Level S for safety reasons.
A: Google Maps isn’t available for waypoint navigation on the ev¹.
A: In Co-Pilot mode, the ev¹ maintains a safety margin from surrounding obstacles, which can help reduce the risk of light elbow extension in many situations. However, sensors may not detect every suspended or outstretched body part, especially very close to the vehicle or outside the sensing area. In Manual Mode, the user remains responsible for judging space. Users should keep arms within the armrests whenever possible and must not extend an arm fully when passing through narrow spaces. Custom safety-buffer settings are being explored but are not confirmed.
A: The ev¹ uses onboard sensing to understand terrain geometry and traversability. More detailed surface-type recognition, such as distinguishing normal ground, grass, and gravel, is under development. Waypoint navigation is intended to prioritize normal passable ground where available.
A: The ev¹ continuously fuses LiDAR and other onboard sensor data to build a local 3D map of the surrounding environment and ground surface. Surface height discontinuities and roughness are detected from the 3D terrain model. Curb heights and surface angles are estimated from the same model to assess traversability and safety. The ev¹ maximizes passability using precise 3D geometry, but in extreme narrow-gap scenarios, sensor resolution and control limits still require user awareness. The ev¹ does not currently have an edge-following function.
A: Waypoint maps are currently single-level. The ev¹ cannot use one map to navigate across floors. When moving to a different floor, users need to create or select the map for that level before using mapped navigation there.
A: Follow Mode is still being finalized and should be used only according to the official feature guidance available at release. Based on the current design direction, the feature is not defined as requiring the ev¹ to be unoccupied, but final behavior and safety limitations may vary by software version.
A: Current Follow Mode recognition is designed around following a walking person, not another mobility device. The person being followed should keep to a moderate walking pace and should not exceed the ev¹'s level 3 driving speed. Final operating limits should follow the released product guidance.
A: The ev¹ includes cliff and drop-off detection in smart driving modes. As a reference, drop-off detection is designed around height changes of approximately 13 cm or more, though performance depends on terrain and sensor conditions. Obstacle sensing can help reduce contact risk for the screen, but sensors have blind spots, so users should remain cautious around very close or suspended objects.
A: Another person can move the ev¹ using the Strutt app remote-control function within supported connection limits. The ev¹ can also be assisted using the push handle where appropriate. In Manual Mode, the user should still be able to supervise movement and the helper should maintain awareness of the surroundings.
A: The evSense guide tape helps ev¹ detect and navigate narrow ramps more accurately.
Each roll is approximately 22 m long. For best results, apply the tape along both sides of the ramp for the full length of the ramp, rather than only placing it on selected sections.
If you run out of the provided tape, you may use any similar yellow tape to finish marking the rest of the ramp. For more detailed application instructions, please refer to the instructions printed on the back of the tape.
A: Currently, the point cloud map can cover up to approximately 4 meters. In the future, this range may continue to expand as we release upgrades.
A: The evSense guide tape helps ev¹ better identify narrow ramps and navigate them more accurately.
Apply the tape along both sides of the ramp, following the ramp edges. This gives evSense clearer visual guidance, especially in narrow or hard-to-detect areas.
A: The ev¹ is equipped with a comprehensive 360° sensing system that continuously monitors its surroundings to ensure a safe and smooth ride.
In Manual Mode: The system acts as another pair of eyes. When an obstacle is detected nearby, the joystick provides haptic (vibration) feedback to alert you.
In Co-Pilot and Co-Pilot+ Mode: The ev¹ actively engages for your safety. It automatically fine-tunes your steering to glide around obstacles. If the system determines there isn't enough space to pass safely, it will proactively slow down and come to a controlled stop before any contact occurs, effectively preventing collisions or tipping.
A: Currently, the point cloud map can cover up to approximately 4 meters. In the future, this range may continue to expand as we release upgrades.
A: Currently, the Waypoint feature supports routes of up to 300 meters. Support for longer distances will be introduced in future updates via over-the-air (OTA) software upgrades.
A: LiDAR can react within approximately 0.1 seconds. However, as with all mobility devices, overall stopping performance is still limited by braking distance. In sudden or close-range obstacle scenarios, a complete stop may not always be possible.
A: Yes. Detection depends on the height and shape of the object.
As a general reference, vegetation at or above approximately 20 cm can be detected as an obstacle, while lower vegetation may be treated as passable terrain.
A: Yes. The ev¹ includes a lower safety zone that can detect feet, paws, and other low-to-the-ground objects near the base of the device and pause movement when they enter that zone.
More broadly, detection depends on the object’s height, shape, and position, though objects at or above approximately 20 cm are generally more reliably detected as obstacles.
A: Yes, copilot mode does work when reversing. The ev¹ uses a rear-facing camera to detect moving objects behind you, including people’s feet and pets, and provides assistance while you’re backing up. This helps make reversing in crowded spaces feel much more controlled and stress-free.
A: Yes. The ev¹ can save up to five maps. Users can create, switch between, and delete maps based on their needs.
Each map uses the ev¹ location at the start of mapping as its origin, and supports a single-level area map within a maximum radius of 150 metres from that origin.
A: The battery indicator light shows both charging status and remaining battery. A red light means the battery is not charging, while a solid white light indicates it is fully charged. When blinking, the white light shows the battery level: 1 blink for 0–25%, 2 blinks for 26–50%, 3 blinks for 51–75%, and 4 blinks for 76–99%.
A: Yes. The ev¹ includes a sleep mode designed to support quick wake-up and faster return to use without a full shutdown and restart. When using this mode, please follow the on-screen instructions and the user manual.

A: Different terrain, load, temperature, and driving habits will all affect the range. Avoid sudden acceleration and sudden braking, or enable Range Mode to retain only basic driving functions, which can also extend the range.

A: After the vehicle is powered off, Bluetooth remains active in the background and consumes approximately 2 to 3% of battery every 12 hours. Once the battery is fully charged, the charger will stop output for safety. At this point the vehicle draws from the battery, and once the level drops below 97% the charger will restart and top it back up. This is why you may see 100%, 99%, or 98% when you wake up in the morning, as the threshold for the charger to restart has not yet been reached.

There are no restrictions on when to charge; you can charge anytime and anywhere.
If the battery is already fully charged, it must drop below 97% before it will start charging again.
During the fast charging phase, the battery and charger will heat up noticeably. This is normal. Do not cover the battery or charger with any objects to avoid affecting heat dissipation.
Both the battery and charger have comprehensive built-in protections, but for safety reasons, it is still recommended to remove the charger promptly once the battery is fully charged.
A: Storing the battery at full charge or completely depleted for a long period, or leaving it in excessively high or low temperatures, will accelerate aging, reduce performance, and may cause permanent damage.
If you plan to leave the ev1 unused for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50%, remove it from the vehicle, and store it separately in an environment with a temperature of 0 to 25°C and humidity of 8% to 40%. Check the charge level every 3 months and perform one full charge and discharge cycle to maintain battery health. If continued storage is needed, recharge the battery to approximately 50% again.
A: The optimal storage temperature for the battery is 0 to 25°C, and the optimal storage charge level is 30 to 50%.
A: The optimal charging temperature for the battery is 20-25°C. The battery automatically adjusts charging power based on its condition. Charging may take longer at extreme temperatures. Charging is disabled below 2°C or above 45°C.
A: High temperatures have minimal impact on range but mainly affect power performance. When the temperature exceeds 40°C (104°F), the vehicle will actively limit power output and reduce speed to prevent the battery from overheating.
Low temperatures affect both power performance and driving range. The chemicals inside the battery become less active in cold conditions, so the battery cannot deliver sufficient energy. The lower the temperature, the more obvious this effect will be.
The EV1 is equipped with advanced power management algorithms. It will automatically adjust operations based on real-time battery status, so you don't need to worry about it.
A: The maximum driving range of ev¹ is measured under specific ideal test conditions. Actual range may vary depending on factors such as terrain, speed, driving habits, user weight, load, ambient temperature, and battery condition.
As a guide, the tested range is:
Range Mode: up to 20 miles / 32 km
Full-function Mode: up to 16.2 miles / 26 km
The driving range is tested by running ev¹ at a constant speed until the battery is depleted. In everyday use, frequent stop-and-go movement, higher speeds, slopes, rough surfaces, or heavier loads may cause the battery to drain faster.
ev¹ also consumes battery while idling, as it continues to power its technology. To save energy, we recommend switching to Range Mode when appropriate. Please note that Range Mode turns off the sensors, so it should only be used in suitable environments.
To further conserve battery, put ev¹ to sleep when you are not using it for a while. For longer periods of inactivity, turn off ev¹ completely to minimise battery drain.
When not in use for a short period, enable sleep mode or power off to conserve battery.
Enabling Range Mode can extend the range, but evSense-related functions will be unavailable.

A: The ev¹ uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The 640Wh battery range on a full charge is 20 miles (34km).*

These include, but are not limited to: product configuration, battery health and age, driving behavior, total payload, terrain, and environmental conditions. Please note that theoretical test data serves as a reference and may not reflect performance in all real-world scenarios.
A: Strutt long-range battery is rated for a typical lifespan of approximately 3,200 full charge cycles.
A: ev¹ can be charged in three ways:
1.Remove the battery and charge it through the battery charging port.
2.Keep the battery installed and charge through the charging port under the armrest cover.
3.Keep the battery installed and charge directly through the battery charging port.
A: Equipped with fast-charging technology, the ev¹ can be charged from 0% to 80% within 2 hours, with a full charge taking approximately 4 hours.
A: Strutt batteries and chargers are independently designed and developed with smart charging protection. Charging automatically stops when fully charged to prevent overcharging.
Important: Do not use third-party chargers to avoid potential safety risks.
A: To maintain battery performance and safety:
The recommended battery operating temperature is around 20 ± 5°C. Very high or low temperatures may reduce performance.
The battery can be charged within 2°C to 45°C. Outside this range, charging may not start. Charging speed may also slow down automatically in very hot or cold conditions.
Avoid direct sunlight or storing the battery inside a vehicle exposed to the sun. High temperatures may accelerate battery aging, damage the battery, or create a fire risk.
For long-term storage, keep the battery at 0°C to 25°C, 8% to 40% humidity, and around 50% charge. Every 3 months, perform one charge and discharge cycle, then recharge it to around 50% if storage continues.
Check the battery and charger regularly. If you notice abnormal heat, corrosion, severe wear, cracks, leakage, unusual odor, or other abnormalities, stop using them and contact Strutt official support.
A: The STRUTT ev¹ comes with clear installation instructions and is designed for straightforward assembly. It can be separated into five parts, including the battery, making the setup process easier to manage.

A: At the moment, a dedicated tablet holder is not available. Instead, we are developing a general accessory interface that could be installed on the armrest, allowing users to attach widely available off-the-shelf accessories such as tablet holders.
A: No. The joystick position is fixed relative to the armrest and cannot be moved farther back independently. The armrests can be adjusted for width and height, and the touchscreen module can be swapped between the left and right sides to suit different users.
A: No. The joystick and touchscreen module do not currently support a swing-away, fold-down, or independent repositioning mount, and there is no confirmed plan for this feature. To get closer to a table, users can flip up the armrests and use the Strutt app for careful micro-adjustments where appropriate.

A: Yes. The Extended Backrest supports three manual angle settings: 13°, 16°, and 19°.
A: Perpendicular wheels: safe up to ~12 cm. Parallel wheels: no fixed number due to risk. Typical gaps 3–10 cm are fine if passing slowly and perpendicular.
A: And in really wet or snowy conditions, we just can't promise miracles. Our tyres are solid, but extreme slipperiness is just extreme. So we always recommend taking it slower when the weather gets gnarly.
A: The ev¹ may automatically limit the highest speed in several situations to help maintain safe operation: on steeper slopes of around 10° to 13°, when the startup ambient temperature is below 10°C or above 40°C, when battery level falls below 30%, and when descending a long steep slope with a full battery. The exact limit may vary with conditions, battery level, and system status.
A: Under reasonable road, weather, load, and turning-radius conditions, the ev¹ is designed to support turning on slopes within its operating limits, supported by dynamic torque distribution and active steering. Users should still slow down, avoid sharp turns on steep or slippery slopes, and follow on-screen safety guidance.

A: The ev¹ can handle sidewalks, gravel, bark, grass, and trails, but it is not recommended to drive over low-traction surfaces that may cause wheel slip, such as deep sand or muddy terrain.

Light rain and splashes should generally be fine, but they are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof or submersible, and we do not recommend using them in heavy rain. The rear storage design prioritizes convenient daily access, so please keep valuables with you and stay alert in crowded or higher-risk environments.
A: Not at this stage. The ev¹ is designed to handle a range of everyday outdoor surfaces, but we do not currently offer a deeper-tread tire option. We do not recommend using the ev¹ on very low-traction surfaces such as deep mud, deep sand, or conditions where wheel slip is likely.
A: No. The rear push handle should not be used as a load-bearing hook because it contains precision sensors. If you need rear storage, please use the official rear storage accessory, which is designed to work with the push-handle area.
